The 27J Education Foundation Supports Educational Needs in the 27J School District

In 1993, a group of Brighton community leaders—Chamber members, City Council Members, and School District employees—formed THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION FOR BRIGHTON SCHOOLS, a non-profit corporation with charitable and educational purposes. On October 15, 2007, by amendment, the name was officially changed to 27J EDUCATION FOUNDATION, with the mission statement to read: To preserve and improve the educational expectations of the community by supporting students and other community members in the 27J community in furthering their educational experiences.

The Board of Directors are volunteer members of the 27J School District community, with a composition of business community members, education members, government members, and interested community members.

Since 1993, the foundation has awarded in excess of $214,000 in funding.
